Inspired by his fascination with the vacuum metallization process used to make sunglasses. This melt pendant light starts with a polycarbonate ball placed in a vacuum chamber. Taking its cue from natural settings, melt pendant light looks like deep space or molten lava. Tom dixon melt pendant has an irregular shape created from a mold. When air is drawn, the charge evaporates the copper foil into a particle mist. And tom dixon melt uk forms a 0.02 micron thick mirror coating. The Swedish design collective Front cooperated with Dixon.
